Sewell-Cotton (born July 18, 1990 over east in Chicago, Illinois, later moved to south suburbs of Markham, IL), better known by his stage name Rico Santana, is an American hip hop Independent artist who started writing R&B and hip hop music at the age of 5 years old, taking the music industry at 18 years old after dropping out of college at Texas Southern University. Rico’s talented song writing puts him in the catergory with some of the great talents before him such as: Kanye West, JayZ, Nas, Lil Wayne, PAC, & Biggie who all happen to be his musical influences also. Santana’s versatile style slips him thru the music industry cracks giving his audience a real feel of his reality and some bounce to go along with it, which makes his music different but enjoyable. 

Late summer 2018 Rico Santana was shot 6 times in the Jeffery manor area where he was born and raised, but was forced to fall back for recovery .
